LAUNCH COMPLEX AT THE VOSTOCHNY COSMODROME
The Angara launch complex at the Vostochny Cosmodrome.
Components of the cosmonaut landing and evacuation unit (ALEU).
The cosmodrome is located in the Svobodnensky and Shimanovsky districts of the Amur Region, on the watershed between the Zeya and Bolshaya Pera rivers.
The launch routes pass over sparsely populated areas of the Far East and water bodies.
All spent rocket parts are returned to Earth in remote and sparsely populated areas and subsequently disposed of.
The Vostochny Cosmodrome is designed to launch launch vehicles carrying spacecraft that will accomplish missions in the interests of Russian enterprises and federal agencies, to support scientific research, socio-economic, and business activities of Russian citizens, and to advance international cooperation between the Russian Federation and other countries.
